ISS Facilitator
Reports to: The Principal
I.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work as assigned by the Principal when students are assigned to in school suspension.
II.QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have secondary teaching certification and any content area. Experience working with alternative schools and specialize in behavior management is preferred.
- Willingness to coach High School sports and ability to coach multiple sports is a plus.
III.FUNCTIONS
- Establish high standards and expectations for all students to accept responsibility for behavior.
- Supervise students and consistently administer rules regarding student behavior during detention.
- Inform students of rules and expectations.
- Work with administration to have in-school serve as an effective preventative disciplinary technique.
- Assist students as needed with homework or instructional assignments.
- Engage the learners in differentiated learning experiences for the range of skill levels and developmental needs found in the classroom, managing, when appropriate, multiple instructional activities simultaneously.
- Provide a nurturing, supportive, and positive classroom climate that encourages student responsibility, using positive motivation, clear classroom routines, challenging instructional strategies, and effective classroom management techniques.
- Discipline students in a fair and consistent manner, using school approved procedures.
- Establish a professional rapport with students that earns respect.
- Communicate with colleagues, students, and parents on a regular basis and in appropriate settings.
- Maintain a physically and aesthetically attractive classroom setting and exercises proper care of district equipment.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the principal.
